PEPSI REBEL SALUTE 2011

TOOTS AND THE MAYTAL’S, BERES HAMMOND AND MAVADO FOR PEPSI REBEL SALUTE 2011

PORT KAISER JAMAICA – Flames Production ongoing partnership with Pepsi has inspired a twist to the 2011 staging of the Pepsi Rebel Salute. It brings with it the eyes, ears and sips of a new generation towards the musical culture of Jamaica’s “best in class concert”!
Toots and the Maytals have been credited with over 30 number one hits in Jamaica, a record at one point in time, with a unique blend of ska; gospel, reggae and soul. The 2005 Grammy awardees’ for best Reggae album are set to get “True Love” from the Pepsi Rebel Salute crowd when they play for the first time in Salute history!
This year’s lineup adds a unique flavor to our 18 year old recipe. With dancehall juggernaut Mavado making waves on international airwaves and among the new generation, his debut on Saturday January 15th at Pepsi Rebel Salute 2011 is seen as an important step in reconnecting the world of dancehall to the positive messages that Rebel Salute has championed for almost two decades. Pepsi Rebel Salute 2011 could prove to be a real test for the real McCoy one that his many fans should want to witness.
Beres Hammond is back and better than ever after a 7 year absence.
Rebel Salute has always prided itself in recognizing and promoting up and coming talent with Tarrus Riley and Queen Ifrica mainstays over the years that have gone on to international acclaim yet still keep coming back. I-Octane is another rising star that has been with us for the past 3 years he is joined by: Tanya Stephens, Ken Boothe, Khago, Chuck Fenda, Fanton Mojah, Junior X, Spanner Banner, Sierra Leone’s Refugee All-stars and many more as part of a more efficient billing this year.
In an attempt to provide quality in the right quantity we have streamlined our lineup from the 50 plus performances in years gone by- we hope that this move will translate to patrons being better able to enjoy our range of precious and unique musical gems in all their brilliance in a setting designed to better help them shine-Treasure beach.
Indulge your nostalgia and enjoy the twist at the Pepsi Rebel Salute 2011 Saturday, January 15th at Port Kaiser Sports Club. Gates open 5pm, Showtime 7pm until. Tickets are priced at a reasonable $1,700 presold and $2,000 at the gate.
