Ah……the power of television. It can take you anywhere that you want to be. Many a household shed their layers of winter clothes to sit down and watch ‘The Victoria’s Secret Swim Special’ which aired on CBS TV on Thursday evening, February 26, 2015 at 10:00 p.m. EST.
Dare to dream that you are walking on the beach in the tropical wonderland of Puerto Rico with a group of sexy angels turned mermaids. The Victoria’s Secret Marketing team has it timed very strategically as the brand has recently launched their ‘new’ Push-Up Collection. What better way to draw shoppers into their stores. In addition, summer will be here within a blink of an eye and the Victoria’s Secret hot new styles will be every woman’s desire and every man’s fantasy.
Similar to the VS Fashion Show that takes place right around the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday season, the VS Swim Special may just end up becoming an annual favorite for fans of the brand, signaling the arrival of warmer weather and a season of glistening skies.
Frolicking on a few different beaches within Puerto Rico and showing us all the tourist areas to visit while in Puerto Rico like Old San Juan, the Rain Forest and the historical fort, the familiar faces of Victoria’s Secret modeled some fun and fabulous swimwear. The alumni girls – Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Behati Prinsloo, Alessandra Ambrosio and Joan Smalls (who knows Puerto Rico well), all showed some of the newer faces the ease of being photographed in the sun and surf. We are taken below the ocean’s crystal layer to take a peek at some of the magnificent marine life that awaits water enthusiasts.
Joining this well-known team were Elsa Hosk, Martha Hunt, Jasmine Tookes, Stella Maxwell and Jac Jasaciak. The man with the best job of all is famed photographer Russell James, who catches these women with their best face forward.
From brightly patterned Boho bikinis to animal print one-pieces, these VS mermaids made their job look absolutely effortless. The black suit is always slimming and forgiving so it tends to be a favorite.
There are a million different ways to wear a bikini and their are a variety of styles to compliment all the curves and crevices of the figure. Two popular trends for the upcoming swim season will be florals and some fringe, so get ready to hit the beach in style.
We learned more about each of these gorgeous women as they candidly spoke about what it was like to be a Victoria’s Secret supermodel. We enjoyed watching the easygoing interaction between them. Each has inner and outer qualities that make them beautiful in their own way and that was unmistakably clear. As the sun was rising, it was time for them to ease into their day with Yoga on the beach in VS Activewear.
Behati’s better half pulled up to an exquisite white sand beach and Adam Levine and his band, Maroon 5, a three time Grammy Award-winning group, gave the girls their own private concert as they danced under the bright illuminating sun and the moon that lit the night sky. With a fiery ‘M’ as big as the beach standing in the background, it was an awesome addition to this hour long show. Also making a guest appearance and giving the girls all that he had, Juanes, is the all-Spanish rock artist with twenty Latin Grammy awards behind him. He demonstrated the power of song on stage as the girls had fun dancing amongst the crowd.
