Lady Gaga Amazes At The Oscars 2015

One of the biggest nights of the year drew celebrities out in the pouring rain to walk the Red Carpet amongst the flash of the paparazzi, only to take part in the Oscar Awards 2015. It all took place on Sunday evening, February 22, 2015, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and televised on ABC TV.
This year, the gowns seemed to be over the top with sumptuous sparkle and gorgeous glamour. There were many standout looks to admire, like Scarlett Johansson’s earth-stopping appearance in a deep green gown, a slimming Atelier Versace original with beaded green necklace and new short hairstyle.
Academy Award-winning actress, Lupita Wyong’o, continues her trend of incredible looks as she turned heads in a handmade Calvin Klein gown of over 6,000 pearls. She definitely took the fashion world by storm and managed to convince us just how comfortable that gown really was.
Naomi Watts dared to be different in a unique black and white Armani Prive’ gown. Onlookers watched her approach the Red Carpet with style and sophistication.
As we are all accustomed to, Jennifer Lopez enjoys being the belle of the ball, a princess with hypnotizing beauty, and this year, the gown that she wore of tulle and soft texture just accentuated her refinement and charisma even more. She debuted an Elie Saab peach-colored original. Even Cinderella would have been impressed.
There is much to be said for watching all the stars arrive and seeing that tiny sparkle in their eye, hoping that they hear their name called and go home with the gold putting it on the bookshelf where they have cleared a spot for it. The whole affair is as enlightening as it is educational.
But, perhaps my favorite part of the evening unfolded just as Lady Gaga hit the Red Carpet. Making sure that she continually stands out in a crowd, her Oscar 2015 transformation was absolutely remarkable. No mask, no costume, no headdresses, Lady Gaga was all woman, more ordinary than she has ever been. She was dressed in white from head to toe, wearing a custom-made gown by Azzedine Alaïa, with a burst of color in red gloves and her hair pulled back in a red hair ornament. Lady Gaga was more real than ever. She promised that her performance on this special night would thrill and keep us entertained and how right she was.
The acceptance speeches just kept coming, but, what followed them, towards the end, was magical. The stage lights dimmed in honor of the 50 year anniversary of the most loved movie of all time, The Sound Of Music. We saw clips from the film flash across the big screen only to be followed by a performance that is still being talked about days after the event. TWITTER went wild with praise and even Julie Andrews had tears in her eyes at the touching tribute to the movie that Andrews herself helped to hold in the hearts of both young and old film enthusiasts. To the backdrop of a small symphony, Lady Gaga performed four magnetically familiar songs from ‘The Sound Of Music.” They included “The Hills Are Alive,” “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss” and “Climb Every Mountain.” It was an amazing performance and Lady Gaga proved that she is a versatile artist in every sense of the word.
It wasn’t as if we didn’t expect a performance this spectacular from the queen of song, but, it was more the image that we took away that evening that was far from the woman that we have come to know. Lady Gaga is an artist that has developed her own unique personality over the years. Music has been her life, her passion for as long as she can remember. She studied at NYU Tisch School for the Arts and was inspired by Elton John and the group Queen. Perhaps her most recent engagement to the love of her life has renewed her character, created a more down to earth Lady Gaga.
If we had to take a vote, Lady Gaga’s performance was, by far, the best of the evening. It was certainly an ‘Oscar winning performance.’
