Today could start a new and promising chapter in the life of Mitt Romney as Texas held their Republican Primary election.  Going into the day, Romney held 1,086 of the 1,144 delegates necessary to win the party’s nomination.  Today there were a total of 155 delegates at stake and with no other contenders, it is sure to be a win for the former Massachusetts governor.  However, it won’t become official until the August 27th Republican National Convention in Tampa.

The fierce battle has already began between the Democratic nominee, President Barack Obama, and the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney.  Obama has attacked Romney on issues of his experience at Bain Capital, the private equity firm that Romney co-founded. Vice President Biden has also fueled the fire with some of his comments as well.

Romney has lashed back on the President based on the slow economic recovery that the United States has undertaken.  He continues to make the statement that “Barack Obama has failed America.”  Romney fights back that his #1 priority if he is to win the Presidency will be to create jobs to stimulate the American economy.

There is definitely more to come from both sides as we get closer to the conventions in August and September and the elections in November.  Many are also awaiting the announcement of the Republican Vice-Presidential choice.

Today found Mitt Romney in Las Vegas for a fundraiser.
