ROMNEY VICTORY IN THE NORTHEAST

Mitt Romney was triumphant in Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. These wins gave him more delegates inching him closer to the 1,144 requirement. Going into today, he had secured 698 delegates.
It was clearly expected that Romney would beat out his two opponents, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul. There have been some hints that Gingrich’s end to the race is near as he reassesses his position. Ron Paul is not ready to put an end to his campaign just yet.
Romney chose the swing state of New Hampshire to make his victory speech for the evening. He thanked Americans for giving him this honorable opportunity and as he put it, “Together we are going to win on November 6th. A better America starts tonight”.
Confident of winning, the leader plans to reach out and personally spend time with Americans in the coming weeks in order to solidify his position. Polls still show him to be out of touch with the middle class and the NBC News/Wall Street Journal shows that 36% of Americans have a negative impression of him. His opponent up until a few weeks ago, Rick Santorum, has yet to endorse him.
Word has it that President Obama will easily secure the delegates he needs in order to become the Democratic nominee to officially run against Romney this fall.
Now the two candidates will go head to head on many of the larger issues with the state of the economy being of major concern. Obama has started by visiting colleges in the last week pushing to extend lower student loan rates. He has an edge over Romney with the younger voters.
Both men will actively be out on the campaign trail over the next few months to try and win the votes of the American public.
