In just a matter of less than two weeks, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York revealed the fresh and inviting trends for the dawning of a new season, Spring/Summer 2015. Many of our favorite designers applied their sense of originality to capture our attention and keep us solely focused on the moment.
There happened to be one designer that made us melt into the moment as the crispness of color and the sensual simplicity surrounded us and impressed our very being. Son Jung Wan set the runway ablaze with flavorful fabrics that held a ravishing richness within our grasp. Deep strong hues brought this particular collection to life and both men and women benefitted from the beauty of each of the pieces. Not only could women imagine an entirely new wardrobe all of their own, but the man also is able to entertain stylish separates to add to their wardrobes as well.
So what was the inspiration behind this Spring/Summer 2015 collection? Creativity was fueled within Wan by the concept of yin and yang and the idea that contrasting elements do not conflict, but instead, exist in harmony. Son Jung Wan continues to leap up the ladder of fashion fame every season and her name becomes even more familiar, not only in major cities within the United States, but also in a country that means so much to her because this is where she was born and considers her home, South Korea. Not only does she have a gift for the skill of design, but her other passions and expertise can be found in being an avid art collector, experienced traveler, rewarding philanthropist, and of course, wife and mother. Wan attracts celebrities who adore the designer’s clothing as well as her vivacious personality. Attending this season’s collection debut in The Pavilion at Lincoln Center during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015 on September 6, 2014, was actresses Kelly Rutherford, The Real Housewives of New York City’s Kelly Bensimon, Edy Ganem of TV’s Devious Maids, Toni Trucks of TNT’s Franklin & Bash, Nico Tortorella of Fox’s

Viewing piece after piece, there was so much to idolize about this Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
Blues of the Danube River, jungle green, deep purple and cool mint gave a fresh feeling and stood out brightly against chalk white and tan neutrals. Metallic threads and sequins bring to mind the glint of the sun, and add unique detailing to each look. Many tangible dualities arise when rough-textured fabrics like hemp are made into sinuous silhouettes. Shapes are soft and feminine in washed linen and sheer silk.
Stand-outs included a berry-colored jumpsuit, emerald green dress, gold sequined romper and men’s white leather jacket and shorts with silver detailing.
In my eyes, I favored the glistening gold dresses and a tantalizing dress falling directly to the ankle teaming with sequins of every color of the rainbow. Every model was outfitted in something even more beautiful than the last.
The abundance of talent in this dedicated designer, Son Jung Wan, continues to expand throughout the universe of style. Now that she has become such a seasoned designer, Son Jung Wan excels at her craft in an enormous and idealistic way.
