Star-Studded Lineup For Groovin In the Park 2016

Groovin In the Park is scheduled for Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Roy Wilkins Park, Queens, New York. It features a star-studded lineup of international reggae singers including Toots Hibbert, Beres Hammond, Tessanne Chin and Duane Stephenson and internationally renowned R&B singers Peabo Bryson, Brian McKnight and Regina Belle.

It’s going to be some kind of summer in New York City.  The sun is up and the flowers are blooming brightly.  It is time to get outdoors and head out to ‘Groovin In The Park’ set to take place on Sunday, June 26, 2016 in Roy Wilkins Park , Queens, New York.   We remember  in 2013 at the  event launch that took place  in Manhattan, The Legendary  Reggae Icon, Toots Hibbert  was in attendance and promise no one will be sitting down when he hits the stage June 30, 2013 at Groovin In The Park.  Unfortunately  Hibbert had an accident that year and  canceled his performance. Toots Hibbert  is back for the years event Sunday, June 26, 2016 and I’m sure no will be sitting down for his set


The reggae icon and Grammy winner  also made an unexpected donation  in 2013 of US$5,000 to the VHFF. The Vincent HoSang Foundation (VHFF), a non for profit, US based origination that helps the less fortunate and provides scholarship and charitable assist for individuals and organizations in Jamaica and the Caribbean Diaspora is in a much better position today to execute its mandate. Vincent HoSang, CEO of Caribbean Food Delights & VHFF and Sabrina HoSang, COO, Caribbean Food Delights and daughter of Vincent HoSang were also in attendance and thanked veteran singer Toots Hibbert for his  generous donation .

Groovin In the Park Hosts World Jamaican Beef Patty Eating Championship

Groovin In the Park, the largest international reggae and R&B festival will be even more exciting this year with the addition of the Caribbean Food Delights World Jamaican Beef Patty Eating Championship.

“Groovin in the Park is excited to partner with Caribbean Food Delights (CFD) for the World Jamaican Beef Patty Championship, which is sanctioned by Wisconsin’s based All Pro Eating Promotions governing body,” said Groovin Executive Producer, Christopher Roberts.

*This is probably the first time that a professional competition of this kind is being held at a reggae/ R&B festival in North America, which will provide Groovin In The Park patrons a unique opportunity to experience the competition first hand. I am confident they will enjoy it” Roberts noted.

“Our Jamaican patty eating competition in its 15th year, is bigger than ever, with prize money of approximately $20,000. The grand prize winner receives $10,000, second place – $5,000, third, fourth and fifth places $2,500, $1,000 and $500, respectively” said CFD’s Chief Operating Officer, Sabrina HoSang-Jordan. She said, being one of the most lucrative competitive eating championships, Groovin’s spectators will see eight top professional contenders vie for the world championship grand prize and trophy.

“At this sanctioned event, CFD will look to set the standard by which all Jamaican beef patty competitive eating championships are judged globally,” said CFD’s Marketing & PR Manager, Janice Julian. “In the past, the winner was determined by the first to finish a given number of patties, however, this year, we are looking to set a new world record in the newly regulated time of 8 minutes allotted.”

“CFD has long been a recognized leader in the food industry and in the world of competitive eating,” said All Pro Eating Promotions Chairman, Todd Greenwald. “Now that CFD has established The World Beef Patty Eating Championship, it has separated itself as a leading producer of premium quality Jamaican patties!” He said he is honored to be involved with the event and he looks forward in letting the world know that Caribbean Food Delights Jamaican Beef Patties deserve to be known as a world championship food!
