South Beach is known for beautiful bodies clad in bikinis, tantalizing tankinis taking to the surf, and amazing swimsuit styles beyond your wildest dreams. So it is only fitting that Swim Fashion Week Miami Beach returns for the second big year thanks to FUNKSHION. From July 13 through July 17, 2016, FUNKSHION will add their intuitive creativity to a week of hot swimwear shows complete with parties that explode into the early morning hours.
For 14 years FUNKSHION has been Miami’s leading fashion platform that provides an innovative way for established and emerging designers to showcase their collections to media, celebrities, international buyers, style makers and influencers. The unique environment that challenges convention enriches and diversifies Funkshion into multidisciplinary experience that brings visionary brands together. FUNKSHION is a triannual event that includes over 40 fashion shows and presentations year-round. Traditional fashion ways infused with art and music create a new way to submerge the consumer and encourage creativity. In addition, Miami is positioned as the connecting force between Latin America and the United States.
“This season is especially important as we evolve Swim Fashion Week to showcase the brightest talent in the industry today,” said Sale Stojanovic, partner and co-founder of FUNKSHION Productions. “Designers from all over the globe are choosing to showcase their brands in Miami Beach because of the growth of the trade shows and media focus. That has inspired us to innovate and offer the most creative options for the brands to tell their stories. This is the future of the industry and we are thrilled to be able to continue to bring the energy and excitement back another year.”
The most coveted designers have agreed to show off their 2017 swimwear and accessories collections for attendees to admire. One of the all-time favorites of every Swim Week is Luli Fama. Every season, the designer gives us more than just a fashion presentation, it is an entire production and lively performance included. The swimwear is feminine with hints of island culture within each design. Exotic while sophisticated is what AquaClara swimwear is all about. Lee & Lani is luxury at its finest with a hint of fun thrown in for good measure. Tori Praver possesses that talent for designing beautiful swimwear that always turns heads. She herself is a model in addition to a swimwear designer. As interesting as the name, For Love and Lemons, the shapes and styles of the swimwear have a unique way of flattering every curve of a woman’s figure. Anna Kosturova adds confidence to a woman’s swimwear wardrobe with Crochet Bikinis, Crochet Coverups, and Silk Resortwear. Kai Lani Swimwear is said to inspire instant beach vibes. V i X Paula Hermanny lets you step out in style with refined, relaxed and effortless elegance. Maaji bring you whimsical and colorful luxury swimwear, with that elegant touch of magic in every suit. The week will bring more accomplished designers eager to show off their collections.
The week will begin with FUNKSHION’s famous Art Hearts Fashion Show which is always a real treat. ART HEARTS FASHION presentations feature collections from the worlds freshest and artistically inspired designers in support of a great cause, HIV AIDS. Under the direction of founder and designer, Erik Rosete, ART HEARTS has raised an incredible amount of money in support of research and education to find a cure.
