Susan G. Komen‘Warrior Fashion Show’ By Hope Wilkos The South Florida Blogger. The sunny South was the setting this past Saturday, January 22nd, for a very memorable event known as the ‘Warrior Fashion Show’ held at The Gardens Mall Center Court in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

This year marks the 20th annual ‘Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure’ in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida on Saturday, January 29th. The vision – a world free of breast cancer. As we approach race day, we were inspired by a group of survivors who took the stage as models giving us a preview of all the latest fashions.
Some of the contributing stores for the Susan G. Komen ‘Warrior Fashion Show’ were Cache’, Eileen Fisher, Lilly Pulitzer, Saks Fifth Avenue, Vineyard Vines, White House/Black Market and more.
As one scene led into the next, the enthusiasm mounted on the stage with a triumphant optimism. These survivors have beat the odds. The clothes came alive with a sense of pride that captured the hearts of the audience and pulled them into the moment.

Highlights from the show included tunics in neutral colors such as ivory and white with a touch of glimmering gold, straight leg jeans with checkered shirts and the season’s hot new stylish raincoat in rust and in black with a fullness and flare as the models glided down the runway.
Printed and floral pinks and greens hit the stage in capris, bermuda shorts, tunics and polo shirts with matching tote in the traditional Lilly Pulitzer style.

The scene faded to black with a variety of looks. A beauty in a wrap dress with a cognac accent followed by a black button skirt, stripe top and black jacket. One of the most cultured looks was a form fitting black dress with a leather waist trim and brown leather belt. Boots in ankle and knee length gave that extra added touch to all the outfits on the runway.

Three lovely ladies took over the runway in smart cocktail fashions. A tall, graceful model sauntered down the runway in a champagne tank top and champagne ankle length skirt with a suggestive slit all the way up the leg and a matching linen light coat for a chilly evening. A plum chiffon pantsuit was finished with a top coat and a grey silk pant looked fabulous with a grey top and a bronze jacket. Heavy gold and black necklaces gave a sophisticated appeal to the attire.

However, the formals stole the stage with finesse and grace. A young lovely model wore a rose applique strapless knee length dress complimented with strappy gold heels. A smiling and attractive model could have been heading to a wedding in a blush silk strapless gown with flower appliques on the chest. The looks became even more elegant as the women appeared from behind the stage. A multicolor halter silk gown with accents of gold, a navy beaded dress with undertones of purple and a V neck, a gold one shoulder dress gathered at the waist and finally a gold metallic gown with criss cross straps in back all struck a graceful pose.
The show culminated with an emotional ending. The models lined the stage to sing ‘The Survivor Song’ with vitality and strength. You couldn’t help but admire their fervor for life. Between the entire group, there were over 150 years of survivorship and the smiles revealed how very proud they were.
The show was filled with unforgettable moments held together with a strong and common bond for life and contemporary music with a great beat.
