Preparation is already underway behind the scenes which is the reason for its continual success year after year.
Producers Brian Grazer and Don Mischer announced that Billy Crystal is thrilled to return as host for the ninth time and now is considered a member of the Oscar family.

Brian Grazer will co-produce the event with Don Mischer. This is his first Oscar event. His work as a renowned filmmaker has received acclaim for over 25 years. He has earned 4 Academy Award nominations himself of which he won Best Picture Oscar in 2001 for ‘A Beautiful Mind’. He is associated with ‘Splash’ and ‘Apollo 13’ and his recent projects include ‘J. Edgar’ and ‘Tower Heist’ both receiving great box office reviews.

Production designer will be John Myhre and this is a first for him as well. His sets have intrigued the industry and his creative talent is recognized as a welcome and exciting addition.
