One of the great couture designers of the century is at it again.

Jean Paul Gaultier presented his latest chic collection in Paris on Wednesday, July 6th, in a unique manner. Gaultier’s shows usually turn into quite the performance and become the talk of the fashion world for weeks afterwards.

With this Fall 2011 Collection, models walked a busy pedestrian-lined red-carpet catwalk which connected two buildings on Rue Saint Martin where the show took place. Attractive women dressed in black halter outfits gracefully beat their drums as the models made their way through the crowd.

Lavish outfits characterized this season such as the full tulle floor-length skirt and the peach colored strapless silk gown with tight bodice and 3-D like details finished off with a feathered headdress. A velvet sequined black petticoat skirt and jacket were worn with black tights, ballet slippers and a white feather headdress. A burgundy feathered strapless tight-fitting gown looked stunning on a dark-haired beauty. It draped downwards with hints of a floral design to add a touch of color.

The detailed intricacy of the design on the fabric of each outfit could only be the direct result of a true master of his trade, Jean Paul Gaultier.

Fur wrapped outfits turned the models into winter princesses. A shiny silver gown adorned with a black feather collar rounded out the show transforming the model into a Greek nymph.

Eye liner and mascara was heavy with bright lips but it complimented the dresses quite nicely and brought out the angelic features of the models. Feather headdresses were the most popular accessory.

Eve Salvail with her shaven head and popularly known as one of the supermodels of the 90’s, decided to make a comeback for the Gaultier show.

The show closed with the infamous Libertine french singer, Mylene Farmer. Capping off the show was the introduction of the newest men’s fragrance, Kokorico.

The influence of the movie, Black Swan, was evident in this collection. Bravo to Jean Paul Gaultier for bringing femininity to life in such an ornate manner. Great collection!!
