The Royal Couple Visits the U.S. By Hope Wilkos, Writer/Blogger
We watched in awe as the royal couple got married but now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be making their way to the United States on one of their first trips as husband and wife.

William and Kate will be heading to Southern California from July 8th through the 10th where they will no doubt be treated like celebrities themselves. However, they have chosen to remain somewhat low key. Traveling with them will be just seven staff members inclusive of a hairdresser, private press secretary, assistant private secretary, 2 more press secretaries, Prince Charles’ press secretary and Sir David Manning, advisor and aide to the couple.
As soon as they depart the plane, the royal couple will have an extremely busy schedule to attend to. There will be a reception at the Beverly Hilton in support of United Kingdom Trade and Investment. Then they will be whisked to an evening reception with the Consular-General, held at the home of the government appointee who looks after British business interests and start-ups overseas. July 9th will find the couple at a charity polo match to benefit the American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. But the day doesn’t end there. William and Kate will head back to Los Angeles for a black-tie dinner and reception at the newly reopened Belasco Theatre downtown. This surely promises to be quite a red carpet event. British talent will be bountiful at this event held by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts but I’m sure the spotlight will be focused on Kate. It’s anybody’s guess what Hollywood stars will make an appearance.

On their last day in California, William and Kate will pay a visit to the Inner-City Arts School, in the heart of L.A.’s Skid Row. They will stop at Sony Studios in Culver City to attend the Service Nation: Mission Serve job fair being put on for veterans.

Though the visit will be brief, there is much to see and accomplish. The enchanting couple will no doubt be a big hit here in the states.
