Toasting Charities With Moët At The Golden Globes
By: Hope Wilkos, Writer
It isn’t just about the Red Carpet looks, the honor of winning the award or reuniting with fellow talented entertainers for an unforgettable evening. The Golden Globe Award Ceremony is the one time of the year when drinking a glass of champagne not only means celebrating victorious and hard-working wins, but also means taking part in the philanthropy initiative known as “Toast For A Cause.”

Looking simply gorgeous in designer gowns with plunging necklines and sparkling diamonds and sequins, Kerry Washington, Lupita Wyong’o, Sienna Miller, Kate Beckinsale, Anna Kendrick, and Dakota Johnson along with hundreds of others, arrived quite stylishly at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on January 11, 2015, to cheer on the nominees and in some cases become award winners themselves. This was the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards.

Moët & Chandon, official champagne of the Golden Globe Awards for the past 24 years and most recognized champagne in the world of bubbly, takes the Red Carpet adventure to a whole new dimension. This marks the sixth year in a row that “Toast For A Cause” has raised an amazing amount of funding for crucial causes. Through the power of stars coming together, philanthropic effort allows these celebrities the opportunity to raise their glass for the charity that they feel most passionate about. Julianne Marguiles stopped Ralph Fiennes on the carpet and demanded he “Toast for a Cause” because “It’s amazing!!”
Through “Toast for a Cause,” Moët & Chandon celebrates charity and honors its history as the “Champagne of Cinema.” An annual charitable program that has become a staple among Hollywood’s biggest stars, “Toast for a Cause” invites Golden Globe nominees and celebrities on the red carpet to raise a toast with Moët Impérial minis in support of their favorite charities. For each toast raised, Moët & Chandon donates $1,000 to the chosen charity in the nominees’ names.

This year, Moët offered two Golden Globes cocktails to guests at the Golden Globes, created by culinary personality and editor of Impatient Foodie, Elettra Wiedemann. They were tasty and easy enough to be made at home. The “Moët Sunset Starlet” is a blend of Lillet, dry Curacao, orange bitters and topped with Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial. It is citrusy and spicy with a refreshing effervescence. The Moët Bijou Rouge blends gin, Carpano, Luxardo, dram bitters and Moët Imperial. The cocktails were served at the Golden Globes lounge, an antechamber to the ballroom.

There is also a bit of trivia associated with every awards ceremony and for the Golden Globe Awards, here is the 2015 trivia information. Moët & Chandon toasted the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards with over 1,500 Moët & Chandon Impérial minis, 125 cases of Moët & Chandon 2004 Grand Vintage Brut and Rosé magnums and 500 cocktails featuring Moët & Chandon Impérial and Moët & Chandon Rosé Imperial.
A big round of applause, not only for the nominees and the winners of the evening, but for all the dollars raised to support such important charities. It only goes to show that there is goodness in the world today.
