RICHIE STEPHENS & BEENIE MAN – MADNESS
‘MADNESS’ FROM TWO JAMAICAN MUSIC ICONS FOR 2015
Kingston: Is the reggae/dancehall world ready for the first ever collaboration between Dancehall King Beenieman and Jamaica Music Ambassador Richie Stephens? To kick start 2015, the two music icons pooled their resources for the highly anticipated music video “Madness.”
“Beenieman is a true professional who delivered 150% on this project” Stephens gushed.
“I am a very happy man right now and I want to say thanks to God and all those who supported the video project” he said.
The music video was shot last November at the Jewels Resort in Portmore, St Catherine. The single continues to garner traction on radio stations and sound systems in Jamaica and North America. A few lucky fans were given the opportunity to participate in the shoot.
“Everyone is loving the music video so far. If the feedback is anything to go by, it will be pure madness for the rest of 2015” Stephens said.
The video release comes just ahead of Stephens upcoming performance at the 2015 Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival set for January 29-31 in Falmouth, Jamaica.

INNER CIRCLE READY TO PERFORM AT REBEL SALUTE 2015
With the 2015 installment of Rebel Salute just a few days away, music fans are eagerly anticipating the performance of Miami based reggae group Inner Circle who are expected to light up the stage. The event takes place at Richmond Estate in St. Ann on January 16 and 17.
Inner Circle and Third World bands are part of a segment paying tribute to Jacob Miller who died in March 1980. Guitarist Roger Lewis, co-founder of Inner Circle, is looking forward to saluting his close friend.
“Jakes had a special place for the working-class of Jamaica. That’s why he would always give his money away to anyone from a struggling family,” Lewis told the Gleaner.
Songs such as Tenement Yard and Tired Fi Lick Weed in a Bush – which were early hits for the group are sure to resonate with long time Circle fans. Inner Circle staged a remarkable comeback in 1993 with hits Bad Boys and Sweat (A La La La La Long) which have become their signatures hits. They recently recorded a version of Tenement Yard with singly of the moment Chronixx that is introducing a new generation of fans to the group.
Also slated to perform at Rebel Salute this year is songbird Sophia Brown, who was recently crowned ‘Best Female Lovers Rock Singer 2014’ at the inaugural Lady Flava Network Awards in Hartford, Connecticut in November.
“I am excited to perform at Rebel Salute this year. It is my first assignment for 2015 and I am ready to blaze the stage with some new song,” the sexy singer said.
Among the other top reggae acts slated to perform at the festival are Israel Vibrations, Italian reggae star Alborosie, Tarrus Riley, Etana, Jesse Royal, Jah 9 and Kabaka Pyramid. The final night will be headlined by Sizzla, Luciano, Richie Spice and the Mighty Diamonds.
