Up at the Pump

Planning a Spring Vacation?
If your arrangement is to drive to your destination vs. flying, perhaps you may need to recalculate your plan.

Gas prices keep increasing and believe it or not, prices have jumped up more than 20 cents in the last couple of weeks. The price per gallon could surpass the record set for the highest rate which was an all-time high of $4.11 per gallon in July of 2008.

The average price at the self-service pump these days is $3.76 per gallon.

However, crude oil will decide the fate for you and me at the pump in the future. Some of the largest factors include the political unrest and upheaval in the Middle East, increased demand in developing nations and a very weak dollar.

Gas has already hit the $4.00 per gallon mark in the San Francisco Bay area and other cities across the United States are sure to follow suit.

It is interesting to note that Atlanta is charging $3.61 per gallon, Boston is charging $3.71 per gallon and Chicago is hitting $4.11 per gallon.
