Tuesday evening, November 29th, was that special evening of the year when the heavens opened up and the lovely Victoria’s Secret angels graced the runway in a tantalizing way. The show took place earlier in the month at the Lexington Armory in New York City and was televised on CBS on the 29th.

Each year becomes more extravagant than the last. With every smile, with every wink and wave, with every kiss blown to an eager audience, these angelic beauties of the evening captivated our hearts. The magic of the moment was even more dramatic with the sparkles, jewels, luminescence and lace.

Artists performing were Maroon 5, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z and Kanye West sweeping up the models in a mixture of upbeat sounds. Famous guests attending included Donna Karan, Orlando Bloom, Deborah Harry, Cuba Gooding Jr., Tyson Beckford, Matthew Settle and Beyonce.

The Angels were Ballerinas of Beauty with silk and satin wings to soar. Tutus in tulle took the opening scene.

The Super Angel theme brought us angels in ornate costumes signifying pure yet powerful and the girls got into the spirit. Pop-art capes added that extra oomph that every action hero needs. Shiny knee-high boots added a touch of sexy synergy. Tight fitting leather outfits were worn with confidence and charisma.

The theme of Passion went back to the Latin roots with brilliant and vivid colors and a bit of couture thrown in to top it off. A hand embroidered outfit with jet beading took glamour to a whole new level. A Spanish fan with jewels glistening down the runway was unbelievably beautiful made for the Angel of the Evening. All kinds of jewels adorned the bodies of many of the models as perfect accessories of elegance. Ruffles and boleros reminded us of the true Latin heritage.

Miranda Kerr had the privilege of being decked out in the $2.5 million fantasy bra.

The Aquatic theme surfaced from the deep blue sea with tight-fitting mermaid costumes, shine, pastels, feathers, colorful crowns, beaded wings, sparkle bras and shiny body suits. These beaming beauties were glorified as muses of the sea.

‘Spell on You’ brought voodoo and black magic into the world of fantasy. Black and white seductive corsets, beads, feminine umbrellas and the smallest of outfits could definitely cast a spell on amazed onlookers. Black boots were made for the ladies of the evening. Bows of brilliance adorned the bras.

The last scene brought fun and energy to the runway with the ever-popular ‘PINK’ Line serenaded by Nicki Minaj in her rainbow of colors, stars and stripes. Proud to be ‘PINK’ in colorful tutus, little jackets, hats, sparkle panties, suspenders, sequined tees, fun club outfits and peace, love and happiness.

It was an entertaining way to bring the merriment to an end. Thousands of balloons and colorful confetti dropped from the ceiling as the finale brought the models and the performers out on the runway together for one last time.

Todd Thomas was the genius designer behind the big event with his clever ideas brought to life in such an alluring way.

See you next year, Angels!
