It was a big night for Hollywood on Sunday, January 13, 2013 as the stars gathered at the Beverly Hills Hilton to celebrate the successes of their talented fellow actors and actresses for the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards.  Moët & Chandon champagne was flowing from start to finish and on to the after parties.

Of course, as always, it all began on the Red Carpet with more sparkles and glitter than a New Year’s Eve party.  The most loved designers of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week  dressed some of the hottest celebrities and the looks were simply amazing over the course of the evening.

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad and Sofia Vergara in glistening black once again stole the show with their perfect hour-glass figures, long flowing hair and complimented by glamorous and graceful gowns.

Amy Adams looked like a Hollywood glamour queen in a Marchesa strapless gown with full tulle bottom that fanned out.

Two important winners of the evening, Jennifer Lawrence and Claire Danes, chose brilliantly colored gowns, simple yet statuesque, which glowed as brightly as their spirits on this special night.  Claire wore Versace while Jennifer wore Dior Haute Couture.

Peaches, whites and ivory, black and reds managed to appeal to the masses who made the evening their own.  Going against the grain was Lucy Liu who chose a Carolina Herrera floral print full gown while Halle Berry was showing lots of leg in a one-shouldered floral print gown by Atelier Versace.

One of my favorites is the delightfully dapper Bradley Cooper who was looking mighty fine in his tux and magically seductive eyes gazing right at the camera. A close second only to Cooper is the charming Leo DiCaprio.

The evening was refreshing and full of humor as the Saturday Night Live team of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey were reunited on the stage playing hosts of the Golden Globe Awards.  They did a fantastic job receiving rave reviews and we hope to see them back next year.

Although there were some awkward moments caught on screen as presenters came and went to and from the stage, the event seemed to flow with an ease.  The big surprise of the night was the presentation of one of the nominees for ‘Best Picture’ by a popular past President, Bill Clinton, who introduced the film “Lincoln” as the audience cheered him.  After he left the stage, Amy Poehler joked, “That was Hillary Clinton’s husband.”

Winning the very coveted Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award, beaming Jodie Foster graciously accepted the honor.  We looked back at her film career which began at a young age and she is still one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood.  In her own eloquent way, she addressed her personal choice of partner and stressed the rights to privacy continuing to refer to the ‘younger generation’ of today that is fixated on reality television.  Foster looked glorious in a blue metallic gown by Giorgio Armani.

Sly Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger made for quite the ‘Odd Couple‘ but they were good sports as they announced the honorable award that they bestowed upon the recipient.

The night had its candid moments but then it isn’t all about being totally serious.  Love seemed to rule the room as the pictures reveal.
