A Designer Of A Different Kind

A Designer Of A Different Kind

Who is Isabella Rose Taylor?  Rosy cheeks, a huge welcoming smile and tons of talent is about the best way to describe Isabella.  At only 13 years old, this youngster is quickly on her way to design stardom.

Living in Austin, Texas, it didn’t take this teen long to figure out exactly what she wanted to do and what path in life that she wanted to travel down.  She began sewing at the young age of 8 when most little girls are playing house, dressing Barbie and goofing around.  It all just seemed to click and before long, Isabella held her very first trunk show. The inspiration behind her fashions is simple yet aesthetic, motivators being the beauty that surrounds her, poetry, travel, color and shapes.

The young designer’s mentor has been Liza Deyrmenjian, founder of the consulting firm ‘Fashion Accelerator 360.’  She has also coached emerging designers on Project Runway.  Liza has been instrumental in her coaching abilities to bring Taylor up to her full potential.  There is more to fashion than meets the eye and Liza has assisted Taylor in teaching her fashion cycle, how retailers buy, selling wholesale and leveraging a trunk show.  For three years now, the fashion expert has helped the young designer release a collection twice a year so she can continue to make a solid name for her brand.  Liza had this to say about Isabella, “Isabella has a very honed aesthetic. She’s very on point with her market, and is an incredible creative director. ”

Now, Isabella is very excited to announce that she will be selling her line at Nordstrom, one of the retail superstores of our time.  It will debut in August, just in time for back-to-school.  The strategy is ingenious and sure to garner success.  The line is labeled, ‘Isabella Rose Taylor‘. The look is hippie-grunge with a slight touch of femininity.  T’s have catchphrases such as ‘Adorbs’, ‘Love’ and her favorite motto, ‘Blood, Sweat and Glitter.’  Teens will also find crochet pants, kimono jackets, jumpsuits, crop tops and the rave these days, the skater dress. Ten selected Nordstrom stores will carry 10-15 of Taylor’s pieces at reasonable prices.  Her clothing can also be found online at her website, IsabellaRoseTaylor.com.

Being friends with Isabella has its own set of perks.  Not only has the young designer made her own clothes, but friends also are wearing the pieces and what better way to promote the line.  Isabella Rose Taylor knows that design is not an easy industry to conquer.  Her dedication and ambition is attributed to “Blood, sweat and glitter.”  Plenty of sacrifice is also part of the formula along with family support and a belief in her skills.  In 2013, she was named ‘Rising Star’ at the 5th Annual Austin Fashion Awards.

Isabella’s accomplishments simply don’t end with fashion design.  She is a published poet and writer with her own blog and has been the recipient of the Scholastic Art & Writing Gold Key Award for her couture.  She has served as an editor for Amazing Kids! Magazine, and also has served on the advisory board for Creative Kids Magazine. She is a member of Mensa and a Davidson Youth Scholar.  She recently won the Scholastic Art & Writing Gold Key Award for her couture. Isabella is also a published writer and poet.  She strongly believes that art and fashion are uniquely intertwined. In addition, she is in college while most kids her age are in junior high. Taylor is all-around amazing.

This is a designer who can relate and understand exactly what her peers are looking for in fashion, what gives them self-confidence while feeling fun and flirty and nothing less than beautiful.  If you visit Isabella’s website, you can see her doing some self-modeling of her pieces.  One day in the very near future, we may even see this child prodigy’s fashions on the runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
