Brooklyn Bowl – Perfect Ending to Tribeca Film Festival

Families from New York City to New Jersey jumped out of bed early on Saturday morning, April 26, 2014, to eagerly got ready to attend the Tribeca Film Festival’s Brooklyn Bowl which was hosted by American Express.
Everyone, from the tiniest of tots to the most spunky of grandmothers, had been looking forward to a fun day to spend together. What better way to celebrate the conclusion of another very successful year at the Tribeca Film Festival 2014 and introduce a brand new credit card called the Amex EveryDay Credit Card. The card lets you be rewarded for even the most routine of errands that you have to run or a night out on the town, just by using your American Express card.
Attendees of the Brooklyn Bowl had a full day of festivities. There was a complimentary screening of the Tribeca Film “Moon Man”, a fun prizewheel where guests had a chance to win prizes that exemplified #EveryDayMoments like Whole Foods and Starbucks gift cards. The prizewheel was a moon-inspired photobooth experience that let guests share their fun with friends using the hashtag #EveryDayMoments, and plenty of food was hand for all the energetic frames of bowling that took place over the course of the day.
One of New York City’s natives and exemplary designers, Rebecca Minkoff, took part in the celebration as well with her husband, Gavin Bellour and adorable son, Luca Shai. Luca was thrilled with all the activities going on around him and just couldn’t wait to take part in all of the fun.
American Express is a founding partner of the Tribeca Film Festival and a dedicated sponsor. Not only did they pass on the happiness to those that came out to the Brooklyn Bowl, but filmgoers throughout the twelve days of the festival that were American Express cardholders were given exclusive access to some of the hottest tickets at the festival. Because it plays such a pivotal role in the event, American Express offers unparalleled access for its Card Members; from a Card Member only early ticketing window to exclusive events, including the premieres of “Chef” and “Keep On Keepin’ On”.
These exceptional films were American Express Card Member Only events and were voted Tribeca Film Festival 2014’s audience favorites: ‘Chef,’ Jon Favreau’s comedy about social media and food, and ‘Keep On Keepin’ On,” Alan Hicks’ documentary about an extraordinary musical friendship.
Tribeca Film Festival announced the winners of their two Heineken Audience Awards at the wrap party in New York City. Two awards – one for narrative and one for documentary – were given to the audience choices for the best films. Throughout the Festival, audiences had been able to vote for the Heineken Audience Awards by completing nomination ballots upon exiting screenings of all of the Tribeca Film Festival films. Films in the World Narrative Competition, World Documentary Competition, Viewpoints, Midnight, and Spotlight sections were eligible. “Chef”, written and directed by Jon Favreau, was chosen to receive the Narrative Award. ‘Keep On Keepin’ On’, directed by Alan Hicks, was chosen for the Documentary Award.
Once again we are saddened to see the event come to a climactic close but we can look back and remember the fun that was had by all, something for everyone in the family and a viewing of some of the most extraordinary films.
