This week has been a big week for New York City. On Tuesday evening, November 8th, Pier 57 became the setting for ‘Versace for H&M Hall on the Hudson’. As most H&M followers are aware, Donatella Versace has designed a line for the fave retailer and this was her night to promote the collection.

Versace has always been known for her dazzling dresses and her use of fabric to make a strong fashion statement. She is greatly revered by designers in the industry for some of her over the top styles. Donatella easily relates to the younger crowd and caters to them with her creative designs. Now teens will have the opportunity to purchase her line at affordable prices at H&M.

This fashion show drew the likes of Jessica Alba, Blake Lively, Uma Thurman, Chace Crawford, Jennifer Hudson and Linda Evangelista. The collection took us back in time to the late 80’s and early 90’s for a stroll down memory lane with a beat.

Performing live were Nicki Minaj and Prince mixed with music by Victor Calderone on the runway.

Bright solids with sequins graced the stage along with the little black dress adorned with studs. Men were decked out in bright colors like the red suit and the blue short outfit with skinny gold tie. Patterns glistened on mini sheath dresses and a gold strapless mini was simply divine.

It’s going to be a great line for H&M and as Jennifer Hudson commented, “Versace has taken H&M to a whole new level”. The Versace Collection will make its debut at the H&M stores on November 19th.

Last night, Wednesday, November 9th, the angelic Victoria’s Secret Show was held at the Lexington Armory in New York City. It will be televised on November 29th on CBS. This show proved to be one of the most extravagant yet with the $2.5 million dollar bra loaded with 3400 hand-placed gems.

In addition, there were gold wings, large feather get-ups and captivating outfits worn by long-haired beauties.

Performers included Maroon 5, Jay Z, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj in one of her unforgettable outfits totally befitting for this show. The PINK Collection screamed Disco Diva with silver sparkles, wings that lit up and disco balls. The tutu never looked so precious. Mary Poppins took on a seductive edge in a skimpy outfit that only Victoria’s Secret could give us. Crowns and Superheroes had a presence on the runway.

More to come from us on this show at the end of November.

This week proved to be a winter wonderland of style in the fashion capital of the world, New York City!
