Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry, the GRAMMY Foundation, The Recording Academy and China Soong Ling Foundation (C.S.C.L.F.), along with retail partners Gucci and Chong Hing Jewelers, unite to host a celebration of the students of the ‘GRAMMY Cultural Exchange Program’.
The GRAMMY Foundation and The Recording Academy give back in so many ways to the global community. This particular mission is an effort to nurture talented young musicians across Greater China.
It was announced at the beginning of this year that Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry in collaboration with C.S.C.L.F., would launch the ‘Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry Music Fund’ giving these ambitious and creative students the opportunity to receive scholarships from the most prestigious Chinese music establishments including the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, the Xian Conservatory of Music and The Chinese University of Hong Kong in order to pursue their dreams and lifelong goals.
The most exceptional students were invited to participate in the GRAMMY Cultural Exchange Program in Los Angeles that is taking place this week.
It is sure to be an action-packed week. On Tuesday, July 17th, the students will participate in the GRAMMY Foundation GRAMMY Camp Guest Professionals Day. Artists and music industry professionals will conduct Q&A workshops and master classes with attendees of GRAMMY Camp’s interactive 10-day residential summer music experience on the University of Southern California (USC) Campus. Not only that, but these lucky students will be able to participate in community music clinics and performances with alumni from the GRAMMY Camp – Jazz Sessions program.
The fun continues on Wednesday, July 18th, as the two groups perform for students from three Southern California youth music programs: the Fernando Pullum Center, Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles and LAUSD Beyond the Bell at Barack Obama Global Preparation Academy.
On Thursday, July 19th, they play at the Expo Center for students from Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles.
Tickets for the big July 20th performance are going quickly. The tickets are available exclusively at Chong Hing Jewelers in San Gabriel, Los Angeles Chinatown and Rowland Heights. You can visit online for hours at www.chonghing.com.
If you are unable to be a part of this distinguished event, a special ‘behind-the-scenes’ video documenting the exchange students’ timeless and unique journey will be shot and produced by the students attending GRAMMYCamps Music Journalism track. This video can be viewed beginning on July 20th at : www.guccitimeless.com/en/partnerships/csclf/students.
