She attracts sold-out crowds and her charisma has captured the entire world.  Beyoncé Knowles-Carter is a star  in more ways than one.  Her look is admired and longed to be copied by girls and women all throughout the world and her costumes are absolutely exquisite.  This is Beyoncé as we know her, but, there is more to her character than meets the eye.

Chime For Change is a global campaign that has been founded by highly respected fashion brand, Gucci.  Reaching millions of advocates, this campaign has one specific mission at hand.  It is using the power of technology and partnerships to support girls’ and women’s empowerment.

Beyoncé is extremely passionate about this cause that affects so many individuals in the world today.  In fact, she is one of the co-founders of this important campaign and in honor of International Women’s Day, an app was launched featuring Beyoncé’s voice.  It is now available for free at the App store: chime.in/chimeapp.  With a starlike quality, Chime For Change is calling on the global community to lend their voices and #CHIMEIN in support of all the girls and women that inspire them daily.  Kellogg’s Special K  Europe is also a large partner in the most recent collaboration with a goal of reaching 25 million households and working to inspire 250,000 voices to join this most powerful movement.

Although this is one of the newer campaigns, founded in 2013, to speak out on a global platform, it is also one of the first to use technology to create positive change towards an issue that is ongoing.  Catapult is the campaign’s donation platform and other organizations that stand behind the cause include The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Facebook and Hearst Magazines.

The funding projects that have been created from generous donations focus specifically on education, health and justice.  The belief is that we can all be strong together.  Although we are all people of different races and nationalities, we are joined by one voice, one crucial cause.  “We can call for change in the loudest voice possible,” says Frida Giannini, Gucci Creative Director and another of the co-founders of Chime For Change.

Chime For Change co-founder Beyoncé Knowles-Carter created a signature bell sound for the new app, lending her vocals from “Pretty Hurts.” By sharing her voice, she is calling on others around the world to #CHIMEIN: “I am honored to be a part of the continuing work of CHIME FOR CHANGE on behalf of women and girls around the world, and especially at this time to mark International Women’s Day.”

Salma Hayek Pinault, also a co-founder of Chime For Change, said “Today marks a significant moment for Chime For Change, as we continue to drive awareness of girls’ and women’s empowerment among millions of households across the world through a collaborative partnership with Kellogg’s Special K. CHIME is giving girls and women everywhere a platform to unite, and through strategic collaborations, their voices are getting louder and our fight against inequality and injustice even stronger.”
Commenting on the partnership, Peter Soer, VP Marketing at Kellogg Europe and a new member of the Chime For Change Advisory Board, said: “We are thrilled to join so many other voices helping girls and women to shine and be the best they can be, which is what Kellogg’s Special K is all about. Large brands like ours can use our scale and reach to help make a positive impact on the world by driving awareness, inspiring action and ultimately helping to make change happen.”

Through the determination and drive of all those involved, the campaign has raised more than 4.75 million which has helped to fund more than 280 projects in 81 countries across 87 non-profit campaigns.

CHIME FOR CHANGE is working in amazing ways.
