Times Square lit up the night in New York City as the crowds took to their positions to watch ‘Express Rocks Times Square’, a runway fashion show put on by Express on Saturday evening, July 23rd, in the midst of all the action.
As has been customary for the past few runway shows, Express also streamed the show live on their website as well as on their Facebook page for a worldwide audience to view and tweet about.
This show was a preview of their Holiday 2011 collection soon to hit their stores. There were plenty of sequins, pizazz and glamour. The show began with tuxedo and tailored suit dressing which led into party attire such as tight, form-fitting sequined pants worn with a chic sweater. A grey silver sequined top was casually paired with shorts. Black sequined tube tops made their comeback worn under sheer blouses or as part of a tailored suit. Bring on the winter with a brown fur vest worn over a tight short silver sequined skirt. Black and grey were two of the most widely used colors.
Deep blue looked classy as a pantsuit and even more elegant as a one-shouldered mini. Throw on some fashionable heels and a strand of pearls and you are ready for the party.
Tunic dressing touched down on the catwalk for a few different looks. A leather vest was the perfect outerwear for a long tunic sweater. No doubt this will keep you warm in the winter.
Fur wraps, jackets and large scarves were all part of this collection.
The men looked stylishly suave as well in tailored suits, black jeans with sweaters and we even got a glimpse at a bomber jacket.
The finale featured shiny sequined minidresses, gemstones and body-con silhouettes. Colors shown were purple, silver and black.
Excitement filled the air as upbeat music played in the background. Express has long been one of the leaders in party dressing and this runway show exemplified their success in that niche of the market.
