Gossip Girl Celebrates 100th Episode

It’s hard to believe but the CW’s Gossip Girl series has hit the 100th episode milestone. In celebration of the success, as other shows falter, the cast members of the past and present came out to celebrate at Cipriani Wall Street on Saturday, November 19th.
Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford made it a formal event dressed in suits and looking simply divine. Although Leighton Meester’s character, Blair, is sometimes aggressive and manipulative, Leighton looked striking and innocent in a Balmain white handkerchief hem strapless dress fastened at the waist and bodice with a gold brooch. Her long hair was straightened with feathered bangs.
Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle were in a festive mood, she in silver in a featherlike fabric and he in a silver tie to match her dress. Michelle Trachtenberg hit the red carpet in black with a smart updo.
Kaylee Defer is the newest cast member this season and was ready to party in a form-fitting black dress with a type of mesh neckline and mesh sleeves. Her bright red lips complimented the look.
But the talk of the evening focused on Blake Lively and her very, very suggestively sheer showgirl flapper style dress complete with fringe and a type of butterfly pattern throughout. Her heels were silver sparkles and silk and she wore her hair up, almost right out of an old-time movie with the extravagance of the era. The chosen designer was Marchesa.
Other actors and actresses such as Alice Callahan, JoAnna Garcia and husband Nick Swisher, Roxanne Mesquida, Nan Zhang and Chloe Moretz came out to participate as well and spotted was model Karlie Kloss. Perhaps we may see more of Karlie next season?
We have seen Blair, Serena, Chuck, Dan and Nate grow up before our eyes with the trials and tribulations of the Upper East Side. The 100th episode will air on January 30th with the royal wedding of Blair Waldorf to her Prince of Monaco, the debonair and sly Louis. Blair will be a bride of distinction in her Vera Wang gown and Princess tiara. All eyes will be transfixed upon her but will she make it all the way down the aisle? There may be many surprises in store. Gossip Girl says that you must tune in for the first 10 minutes. You won’t be disappointed.
It looks like we may also be in for another season and who knows what Gossip Girl may have in store for us…………….
