The stars were out in full force on Sunday evening, November 20th, for the 39th Annual 2011 American Music Awards held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California and broadcast live.

Silver silk and black tie seemed to carry the theme of the evening. Each time we see Jennifer Hudson, she becomes even more beautiful. Slimmed down and dressed in a metallic draped neckline mini along with black sparkle platforms with bright red lips, she definitely received a five-star rating for the night. Katy Perry was a vision of loveliness with her hair done up in a modern French twist, dark lined eyes and bright orangish-red lips decked out in a strapless kimono print dress in white and black with interesting blue platforms.

The animal print still holds on for another season with Mary J. Blige wearing a one-sleeved floor length leopard print wrap dress with dangling silver earrings to match. As paternity rumors fly, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber were modern day Bogey and Bacall, he in a velvet smoking jacket and shiny black high-top sneakers and she in a most elegant ivory satin gown revealing a low neckline with a seductive slit up the leg and carrying a tiny purse to match the dress.

Heidi Klum made an appearance in a fascinating type of suggestive cut-out doilies dress but nothing can overshadow her beauty. Jenny McCarthy dared to be different in a simple purple full dress in sharp contrast to her golden blond hair gathered to the side. She pulled it off well.

It wasn’t just a night of musicians and singers although present were a diverse set of artists such as Adam Lambert, Joe Jonas, Lionel Richie, Chaka Khan, Taio Cruz, John Legend, Lady Antebellum and more.
We saw the likes of Matthew Morrison of ‘Glee’, ‘Jersey Shore’ star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, a couple of celebrities from ‘Modern Family’ and others who grabbed the spotlight.

Attention-grabbing performances surely captivated the audience. Hot and steamy Jennifer Lopez always gets the crowd moving and on their feet to the beat and as she moved across the stage, she gave a very powerful performance in a sparkling outfit that left little to the imagination.

Although both Kelly Clarkson and Christina Aguilera can surely belt out a song and did so on this evening, their curvaceous full figures preoccupied the audience as they appeared in dazzling sparkles and sequins in very tight form-fitting dresses clinging to their curves.
