A MID SUMMER AFFAIR WITH LILIANA MONTOYA

On Thursday, July 26, 2012, Vizcayne hosted a poolside soiree. It was a private event appropriately called Mid Summer Affair. It was a very private event highlighting the Montoya Mermaids Collection by Columbian designer, Liliana Montoya.
The inspiration for this enchanting collection was the deep blue sea and all it has to offer with some of the hottest and brightest swimwear handcrafted especially for the discerning woman. With the balmy breeze blowing in the distance and the moon rising in the evening sky, there were bikinis with ruched bottoms, unique one-piece suits similar to bikinis with ties around the waist, open-sided maillots, side-tie bikinis, bandeau and sequined tops and even some geometric designs thrown in to pursue the latest trend of the season.
A floral cover-up was an attractive addition to the halter-tie floral bikini and we were even able to get a glimpse of the animal print suit which seems to keep reappearing season after season. The multi-color bikinis represented fishes, scales, corals, algae and of course, the magnificent landscape beneath the ocean.
Montoya is no stranger to the fashion world. She herself was a Maxim model and a former Miss Hawaiian Tropic so she understands what a woman wants to look confident and classy from head to toe. Some of her pieces can easily be mixed and matched to come up with the perfect combination.
Montoya also presented this latest collection during Fashion Week Swim at Funkshion located on 21st and Collins Avenue. Mid Summer Affair drew approximately 300 attendees eager to see the latest collection as they enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in a more intimate setting.
What woman wouldn’t want one of these attractive suits to dive into swim season?
