There was no better brand to kick off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim then the well respected Diesel Brand. The show took place at the exclusive Raleigh Hotel in South Beach. The trend-setting swimwear lit up the night with eye-catching suits and sexy models.

Suits were shown in hues of blue, grey, brown and green intermingled with bright orange and some suits with pastel trims. Diesel went from the tiny bikini bottoms to the mini shorts paired with the bikini top. Tops looked chic tied around the neck similar to a halter top.

The show opened with the denim suits in blue and khaki and moved right into stripes and florals. Interestingly, a large blue and white pattern stripe top was matched with a smaller red and white stripe pattern bottom. Some of the military influence was apparent with the pinkish red bikini with a military helicopter imprinted in the design on the top and a large sun grabbing your attention on the bottoms. The same suit was worn as a one-piece in greenish-blue.

Bursts of blue were set against a white backdrop on the swimsuit as a model made her way down the catwalk.

A grey bikini was made to come alive with a black side buckle. The one-piece version was hip and stylish with a black buckle fitted across the front of the suit.

The mens’ suits were full of color and pizazz. The long boxer suits were modeled in single colors ranging from khakis to reds leading into plaids and tropical prints.

As is customary, the Diesel name could be seen on the back side of some of the bathing suits.

Lights dimmed and came back up again to reveal suits inspired by SKYY Vodka. A one-shouldered blue bikini had the brand name in big silver letters on the top. That was followed by a male model in a silver hip-hugging bathing suit with the brand name spelled out on the backside of the suit.

Kristin Cavallari (The Hills) gave us the thrill of the evening as well as the show finale appearing in a one-shouldered blue glass bikini with pieces of blue glass influenced by the SKYY Vodka bottle. Kristin looked gorgeous with the blue suit against her tan skin and long blond hair. It was the perfect ending to a powerfully vibrant show.

Special guest star at the after-party was actress Jessica Szohr (Gossip Girl) looking strikingly beautiful in a v-neck blue short outfit and showing off her DJ talents as she began spinning some dance hits.

It was a great evening enjoyed by all on the first night of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim.
