The Future Unfolds – Binetti By Hope Wilkos, Blogger
Lincoln Center was the setting on Saturday morning, February 12th, for an IMG/Mercedes-Benz Fall/Winter 2011 futuristic showcase of gorgeous outfits from Binetti. This innovative Italian designer is known for his thought provoking designs. He expresses himself through his enticing fashions and makes a strong statement with his clothes.
Moving into the Fall/Winter 2011 season, the mood was set to black, silver and gold with a touch of white thrown in there.
Some of the unique outfits on mannequin-like models included:
Black tulle open front and back caplet, with gathered sleeves and interfaced rope with tassels in shimmery black floral sequin. The trousers were silk wool.
Black cashmere sweater/blouson with insert of silk chiffon, collar and sleeves. Silk fitted trousers and over-blown draped coat.
Multi-patch marbleized trousers with tie-dye sequin and metallic cluster rings.
Bold sequin flower printed blouson dress with gathered draping on right hip.
Ostrich fringe print sweetheart cup silk-layered dress, floral clustered belt, black velvet shawl with tassels.
Long black and white ostrich fringe printed sleeveless open tunic with ostrich feather inserted all around. Silk white tailor fitted trousers woven diamond silver dots.
Armor sleeveless bodice, top squared neck mounted over Rorschach printed gown.
Much of the Collection’s details were captured in jewels, brocade, tulle, sequins, ostrich fringe, mohair and beads.
This distinctive and original approach to showcasing a Collection pulled the viewers into Binetti’s special world. His new outfits will certainly be hot sellers for Fall/Winter 2011.
