As one of the great classics of all time opens soon in theaters across the country, The Great Gatsby, toasted the New York City Premiere with a roaring good time held at The Plaza Hotel after the Red Carpet arrival and the viewing of the entertaining film.
All the glamour of The Great Gatsby came to life taking us back in time with over 700 guests right out of the Gatsby mansion including the stars of the film, Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Jay-Z, Tobey MacGuire, Isla Fisher, Jake Gyllenhaal and the director was there as well, Baz Luhrmann.
Hosting the all-star event was Moët & Chandon whose Imperial bottles are seen throughout the film. The celebration kicked off with an amazing procession of Moët & Chandon champagne bottles including vintage 1921 bottles. It was even more authentic as flappers and jazz singers carried sparklers amongst the crowd of partygoers.
What a sight to behold as Leo arrived to find a Moët Champagne Tower complete with Gatsby flapper on top holding an oversized bottle of Moët 1921 champagne. The hotel itself was transformed into Gatsby’s mansion and had the actor completely awestruck. Guests were smitten by Leo’s savvy good looks and charming personality. Many an iPhone was seen snapping a picture of the gentleman of the evening.
Co-stars Carey Mulligan and Jake Gyllenhaal arrived together with Carey’s husband, Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons fame.
Dressing especially for the occasion was television personality, Martha Stewart, in gold leggings seen mingling with designer friend, Tommy Hilfiger. Another crowd standout was Brad Goreski who dressed in a multi-color suit.
As the party progressed, Jay-Z arrived with a massive entourage at midnight and Leo was quick to greet him.
Carey was complimented multiple times on her performance as Daisy in the film. Isla Fisher brought her husband to the extravaganza, actor of many personalities, Sasha Baron Cohen.
The honoree of the evening was Gatsby Director, Baz Luhrmann who raised his glass to make many a toast. Florence Welch of Florence & The Machine danced and hugged Baz as she balanced a glass of Moët & Chandon in her hand.
The Great Gatsby will entertain film goers beginning on May 10, 2013 and is sure to be one of the most successful films of the year 2013 with its all-star cast and lavish costumes complimenting a brilliant storyline.
