‘THE KILLS’ – NY FASHION WEEK OPENER

Fall/Winter 2012 New York Fashion Week kicked off with a bang combining hot fashions, hot stars and steamy rock-and-roll in a one-of-a-kind party event on Thursday evening, February 9th. This was an amazing celebration exclusively hosted and presented by DeLeon Tequila as part of the DeLeon Rocks series.
It all took place at the trendy Top of The Standard Hotel in the middle of the Meatpacking district of NYC. There was an intimate live performance by The Kills, a rock band formed by American singer, Alison Mosshart and British guitarist, Jamie Hince. In April of 2011 they released their fourth top-selling album. Their popularity is spreading across the world as they make their way to a host of destinations on their latest tour.
Their audience for this successful evening included one of the most versatile models of our time, Erin Wasson, while Alexa Chung, former British model, tv host and contributing editor at British Vogue and Poppy DeLevigne,model and socialite, made their way around the room enjoying both the music and the company.
Lindsay Lohan made an appearance with friends who were overjoyed to be able to attend. Heart struck lovers, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis were caught up in the moment as they gazed out at the city skyline while listening to great rock-and-roll .
Alexander Skarsgard, the handsome Swedish actor best known for his vampire role on the HBO series True Blood, was definitely the enticing and magnetic male of the evening.
The CW’s ‘Gossip Girl’ show was well represented by ‘lonely boy’ Dan, Penn Badgley, who is no longer lonely thanks to his newest squeeze, Zoe Kravitz, who was there in attendance with him. Leighton Meester was also at the party but decided to remain low key for the evening.
Some of the other fascinating guests of the party enjoying the evening festivities included Canadian doll-face model, Jessica Stam, the very chic Genevieve Jones, Twilight actor Kellan Lutz, Fashion Writer, Editor and New York Times best-selling author, Derek Blasberg, Boardwalk Empire’s own Jack Huston, Indian-American jewelry designer and actor, Waris Alhuwalia, and famous daughter of Patti Hansen and Rolling Stones guitarist, Keith Richards who is the lovely Alexandra Richards.
What a simply divine way to begin a most memorable week of Fashion, Fun and Festivities!
